- Registration data: Name, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), country, and timezone.
- Profile data: Display name, profile photo (processed via Cloudinary).
- Payment information: We do not store your payment card details. All payments are processed securely through PayPal. We receive transaction confirmation and amounts only.
- Chat messages: Messages sent during sessions are stored to provide session history and for dispute resolution purposes.
- Reader applications: If you apply to become a reader, we collect the information submitted in your application, including identity documents, which are used solely for verification purposes.
Information Collected Automatically
- IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs for security and fraud prevention.
- Session logs including connection timestamps and session durations for billing accuracy.
- Cookies and local storage as described in Section 4.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
- To facilitate real-time chat sessions between customers and readers.
- To process payments and manage your wallet balance accurately.
- To calculate and distribute reader earnings and platform commissions.
- To send transactional emails (account verification, session receipts, withdrawal confirmations).
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security breaches.
- To improve and personalise the platform based on aggregated usage patterns.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the platform, including PayPal (payment processing), Cloudinary (image hosting), and our hosting infrastructure (Render.com, Railway, Netlify). These providers are contractually obligated to keep your data confidential.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of PsychicsLove or others.
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and browser local storage to maintain your login session, remember your preferences, and support platform functionality. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may affect your ability to log in and use the platform. We do not use browser fingerprinting or cross-site tracking technologies.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit.
- Bcrypt hashing of all passwords — we never store plain-text passwords.
- JWT-based authentication with short-lived access tokens.
- Rate limiting and CSRF protection on all API endpoints.
- Regular security audits and access controls on our database infrastructure.
While we take every reasonable precaution, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide our services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, financial, or fraud-prevention purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial records).
Chat session logs may be retained for a period of 12 months to assist with dispute resolution, after which they are permanently deleted.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Withdrawal of Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time.

PsychicsLove is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will immediately suspend and delete that account and any associated data. If you believe a minor has used our platform, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email and will post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
